Project Name: Reusable Sanitary Pads Workshop

Location: St. Paul's Primary School, Banda, Kampala, Central Region, Uganda

People Involved: Local educators, community volunteers

Impact Summary:

  • 65 girls educated on menstrual hygiene and care
  • Hands-on workshop teaching girls how to make reusable sanitary pads
  • Skills gained using materials such as bedsheets, blankets, waterproof fabric, and fleece cotton cloth
  • Empowerment through breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation, promoting confidence and preparedness

2. Menstrual Hygiene Education and Reusable Pad Training in Melamchi, Nepal

Project Name: Menstrual Hygiene Education and Reusable Pad Training

Location: Shree Shitala Devi Secondary School, Melamchi-10, Sindhupalchok, Bagmati Province, Nepal

People Involved: Rotaract Club of Sukedhara, Rotary Club Nagarjun

Impact Summary:

  • 32 female students trained on menstrual hygiene and making reusable material pads
  • Three-day capacity-building program to empower students to manage their periods sustainably and confidently
  • Distribution of hygiene kits including reusable pads, soap, sanitary wipes, and other hygiene products
  • Focus on addressing menstrual stigma, creating awareness, and equipping young women with critical life skills

Project Name: Menstrual Hygiene Awareness and Distribution Drive

Location: Shakti Nagar, Delhi, India

People Involved: Girl Up DU, Rotaract Club Hansraj, volunteers

Impact Summary:

  • Successful distribution of sanitary pads to women in need during Phase 2 of the project
  • Awareness sessions and open discussions focused on breaking the stigma surrounding menstruation
  • Volunteers provided essential information about menstrual health to create a more informed and supportive community for women
